blood pressure checker Desiree Rossi: CPR teen rescuer

Desiree Rossi was on her way home from school when she spotted a man lying awkwardly on the ground near a bus stop in her hometown of Pawtucket, R.I. A group of onlookers surrounded the man's lifeless body. The petite teenager didn't hesitate -- she stepped in, ordered someone to call 9-1-1 and immediately started CPR on the victim. For two minutes, she performed Hands-Only CPR while the onlookers still stood by watching. EMS arrived and took the man to the hospital where he was stabilized. Just six months earlier, Desiree became certified in CPR, as well as trained in first aid and how to use an AED as part of a physical education elective.
